I read Sufferings in Africa: The Incredible True Story of a Shipwreck, Enslavement, and Survival on the Sahara and loved it. It was apparently Abraham Lincoln's favorite book.
I also read Hamel's Journal And A Description Of The Kingdom Of Korea 1653-1666 and loved that as well.
I'm looking for real life survival/ escape from captivity/ first encounter type books.
