I want something that continuously twists the narrative in such a way that by the end it recontextualizes everything that happened in prior chapters. Something that doesn't just incorporate plot twists for pure shock value, but actually structures the plot in such a way that the twist upends the narrative and makes you think about prior events in a new light. Something that is rewarding to read for a second time as knowing the twist makes you pick up on small details that you might have missed on the first read-through.

    Any genre is fine.

    1. I just finished In Five Years by Rebecca Searle and went back and reread the beginning again. It’s an easy read, but an interesting ending that made me rethink the beginning.

Michael Marshall Smith’s ‘Only Forward’ and Spares.

Random Acts of Senseless Violence by Jack Womack.

Hugh Cook’s Chronicles of an Age of Darkness – the whole thing, each book reveals the truth about the world and the characters in them meet and we see the events from different perspectives.
