Asking for my partner, she's not read one book in her adult life to completion and that was The Housemaid, she read it in a few days and really enjoyed it.
She has tried reading other books but never got on well with them (one being Project Hail Mary to my dismay)
Does anyone have any books in a similar vain

The rest of the housemaid quartet? Others by the same author that I loved were dear Debbie and locked door. For a new reader I’m not surprised she didn’t get on with project Hail Mary. It took me two attempts to get through it
The Last Mrs. Parish is very similar to Housemaid
Verity, by Colleen Hoover
It’s really hard to match Frieda McFadden for sheer lack of quality; genuinely few people being published today are as bad at writing books as she is, but you might try Ruth Ware or Liane Moriarty
They Never Learn by Layne Fargo. Female anti-hero protagonist that you will root for. It was a 4/5 for me. I really enjoyed it.
The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, None of This is True
Listen for the lie, first lie wins, the tenant, here one moment
Gone Girl
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
Never Lie
