I have been trying to hold the fort for a very long time, but I am ashamed to say I have in the end surrendered and joined the very thing I had sworn to destroy.

I have been a physical book guy for my whole life, and I still have a to-be-read pile worthy of a small library. But today I downloaded an ebook for an ereader I got a few years ago for my birthday.

I am truly sorry, please forgive me…

Helped me spend less time on my phone. My lizard brain wants to look at a screen for five hours? We can do just that.

    2. Time and place for all formats! I usually have one physical, one ebook, and one audiobook going at a time.

Books are books and reading is reading. The medium really shouldn’t matter.

Personally, I go back and forth between physical and digital. I only have so much shelf space, and if you travel digital is amazing.

Books are books. I get physical still. I love that on Amazon some physical books come with a kindle version and audible version. When they do. I have enjoyed them more that way. Books are books. Digital or  not.

    5. The dark side is forcing yourself to use only one format when you can use all of them to improve your reading habits.

While I have serious misgivings about Amazon, getting a Kindle (well over a decade ago) has changed my life and I cannot live without it.

    7. audiobooks are books too, I don’t discriminate. Though I prefer paperback to ebooks.

feel free to crucify me too.

    8. Ice cold take here, I don’t really understand the drama about physical vs digital, get whatever you want. I travel for work, so digital makes the most sense for my needs

Ebooks are great especially library offerings. Just don’t buy from Amazon, use bookshop.org to support local

    10. The most important thing you can do is to keep reading. The format does not matter.

And get Libby! Then you can still buy physical copies of the books you love!

    11. I’m pro e-book. I actually read books on my phone nowadays. I figure if all I’m doing on my phone is reading the absolute garbage that is social media anyways, I might as well read a book.

    12. I used to be a physical book truther and I still like a real copy, but at the end of the day the book is the words and the words are the same regardless of the medium

    13. People have preferences but I do not think there is actually anybody here against e-books. One does not exclude the other. There are really practical and useful as format. You have been missing out, enjoy.
      Audiobooks are also pretty lit.
