I’ve spent the last 4 years reading almost exclusively romance, 382 books total, and only about six of them weren’t romance. Needless to say, I’m getting bored. So this year, I made a resolution to branch out and read more non-romance fiction, aiming for at least every other book to fall outside the genre.
Somehow, that shift has mostly led me toward craving horror.
I just finished Red Rabbit by Alex Grecian, and it didn’t quite deliver the dread or impact I was hoping for. On deck, I have Rebecca, followed by In the Miso Soup.
What I’m looking to add to my TBR are the strangest, darkest, most unsettling books you’ve read… the kind that sticks with you long after you finish. Nothing is off-limits, and content warnings don’t deter me. Please suggest the books that make you feel a little off while you’re reading them.
I’ll read every single book blurb on each book recommended anyway, but I would love if you left your own blurb about the book you’re suggesting.
