Obviously, a biography would usually be an self-evident example of this, but I'm thinking more of books written in a particular style that stood out to you. Tom Wolfe's non-fiction books come to mind. Reading Herbert Bix's biography of Hirohito recently, I was struck by his frequent use of irony when describing Hirohito's actions. Have any books stood out to you in this way?
