Every single thriller I read is the most surface level and simple prose, plot, and experience. I’ve tried Pretty Girls, Then She Was Gone, The Silent Patient, a bunch of Freida McFadden (just because she’s on Kindle Unlimited), and Rock Paper Scissors (this particularly offended me with its “tell not show” approach, random platitudes on every page, and comma splices everywhere.)
Girl on the Train was fine, and I actually liked Gone Girl if I remember correctly. Please save me. I want to read a good thriller so bad.
