I have read all the Red Rising and Hierarchy books that are currently out. I absolutely loved them. I struggled to get myself to put them down. I've since struggled to get into another book series.

I tried to read Six of Crows but simply couldn't get into it. The characters felt too… thin? Like Caricatures? Maybe it's that there were too many of them.

I successfully read Rage of Dragons and enjoyed it on balance, but with the way it ended, I'm having trouble convincing myself to pick up the sequel. It was good, but not in the same league as Red Rising and Hierarchy for me. I also really enjoyed Dune, but perhaps that was because I had seen and loved the movies first. The writing style of Dune was a bit odd, but nevertheless it was a page turner.

I have just finished reading a sample of Empire of Silence. To be quite blunt, I found it to be a bit boring. I'm not sure if it was the writing style or if the protagonist just didn't grab me or what. But I wasn't motivated to buy it.

With those things in mind, what book should I try next?

Bonus: How do you guys approach finding new books to read?
