I've been an on-and-off obsessive reader my whole life, with a recently renewed appetite for active, daily reading. In the last couple weeks I've read David Sedaris "Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls", Christopher Moore "Shakespear for Squirrels", Carl Hiaasen "Fever Beach" (not a favorite), Kira Jane Buxton "Hollow Kingdom", as well as others that i gave up halfway through due to lack of interest. I very much enjoyed all of of the above, except for "Fever Beach"…I think Hiaasen's writing style just didn't resonate with me. I'm looking for humorous reads, with some poignancy and overall uplifting message. I have an appreciation for dark humor. I'm struggling currently, and enjoy reads that make me laugh, but remind me that life is complicated but worthy. Any recommendations based on my recent reads?
