Cozy Winter Solitude

I’d like to read a book about a man or a couple just chilling in maybe a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a lot of snow. Possible animal companion. Every book like that I try to find is a horror/survival book.

I like horror. I’ve read a lot of Stephen King, but I’m not looking for horror on this one. Speaking of King, I’d like suggestions for a book kinda like Duma Key, except in the winter and no creepy haunting stuff and neighbors. Just a guy chopping wood, sipping coffee, building fires, maybe smoking a pipe, maybe stroking a cat. Slice of life kind of thing. Like 11/22/63 when Jake spent those 8 weeks on the lake reading, canoeing and reading. Just chilling.

I’m currently on the third Dresden Files book and my favorite parts are when Harry is in his apartment, lights a fire, shares a meal with Mister and just chills. I want something like that. Cozy, chilling.
