I’d love to find a breezy book or two—but not romances. I’ll be staying in the hospital for a couple days after my kid’s surgery (she’s fine, it’s scheduled). A pediatric hospital is just such a heavy place to be, plus you get interrupted every 90 seconds, so I’d love a light, uplifting read. Like a beach read, but, again, preferably not a romance. Thanks in advance!

Remarkably Bright Creatures
Cozy fantasy, sorrow and joy, heartwarming, The House in the Cerulean Sea and sequel
Cozy, sorrow and joy, tugs at your heart strings, The Guncle
Legends and lattes by Travis Baldree
A Psalm for the wild built by Becky Chambers
“House by the Cerulean Sea” by T.J. Klune is light and bright. I think there’s a sequel as well. I can’t remember what it’s about but I do remember it being fluffy and easy to read.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
The “Baking Up A Magical Midlife” series by Jessica Rosenburg is *SO* much fun, and the first three books are not romantic (I’m starting the fourth, now, and it looks like it may be). It’s the perfect package of cozy, thrilling, and dreams come true… all while maintaining a totally light-hearted vibe ✨️
