I've read the Fourth Wing series (my favorite), the first book of Blood and Ashes (my least favorite), and the first two books of Glass Castle. Now I'm looking for something different, a medieval fantasy series/book set in an academy with magic themes (not like Harry Potter, but something a bit more original, like the academy in the Fourth Wing series). Dark fantasy is also fine. I don't want the main character to be like Poppy from Blood and Ashes, or Enemies to Lovers, and it depends on how the book tells the story, but if a book portrays a character as if they're going to die, then that character should die. I was thinking about giving up on Glass Castle because of something like that in the second book, but at least the book was wrapping up that story so you could forget about it.
