Hello! I am an artist/author, and I have an original character who really likes romance novels, the supper sappy, love-at-first-sight, fairytale type stories. It technically doesn't matter for my story specifically what books he likes but I still want to know. The thing is, I do not like romance at all and have no idea what books are "good" or which ones the character might like. I know he likes the OG Rapunzel story (Children's and Household Tales — Grimms' Fairy Tales 1st edition – 1812 specifically) and Disney's "Cinderella", but I don't know any other romance stories in general, let alone novels/books. I'm looking for recommendations that are similar types of stories but written for young adults/teens. I would also like recommendations for more mature pining type stories for older adults. fantasy or historical is preferred. Older books would be awesome, but new books are great too. I'd like recs for both straight and queer novels if possible. Nothing with smut please. Thank you!
