I’m looking for short stories that stayed with you long after you finished them. The kind that made you sit quietly for a minute. Or question life. Or smile like an idiot.
Any genre is fine — literary, sci-fi, horror, funny, weird, heartbreaking — I’m open to everything.
If you also tell me where I can find it
I’ll name my future goldfish after you.😌
Drop your favorites please. I’m building a reading list.

    1. I’m a fan of former SNL writer Simon Rich’s short stories which fall into the humor genre. My favorite of his is The Big Nap, a parody of hard boiled American detective fiction with a two-year-old PI investigating his sister’s lost stuffy. You can find it in his 2021 collection “New Teeth: Stories”, or serialized in three parts in the New Yorker and available free online at their website.
