I used to read a books when I was in school. I want to restart that habit and I want to start with a novel. Suggest me(assume a beginner since I haven't read in so long) some thriller/Sci-fi or something you absolutely loved and would want me to try.

If you’re just getting back into it, I’d start with something fast and gripping so it doesn’t feel like work. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is a really easy sci fi thriller to slide into. Short chapters, big what’s happening energy, and it moves quick.
If you want something more classic sci fi but still very readable, The Martian by Andy Weir is fun and surprisingly funny. It doesn’t feel heavy even though it’s science based.
Thriller wise, Gone Girl pulled me out of a reading slump years ago. Hard to put down once it gets going.
Honestly the key is pace. Pick something that makes you want to read just one more chapter.
