I need something light to escape day to day life and have found regency romance novels do the trick very well. I'm constantly interrupted or nodding off (thanks to my wonderful but fussy baby) so I cannot go for anything too complex. But I like the strong character developments, the women in the focus of the story and her witty writing style. I've read a lot of Georgette Heyer lately, but her books end way too soon. Mary Balogh and Julia Quinn are a bit closer to what I'm looking for but I've read most of their work. Jane Austen is my constant fall-back for a re-read when I'm running out of new material. Maybe it's time for Emma once again.
