I finished this book last night, and decided to sit with it for a day to gather my thoughts. I still don’t know how to explain it. All I can say is I loved the story.
Watching Moira’s story unfold, seeing the connections being made, getting that a-ha! Moment as I piece a core plot point together early, it was all so rewarding. Moira was hard to like at first, and frankly so was the other protagonist, Amelia.
I think that was the point though, bruised and scarred women working through their grief, finding themselves, finding their meaning. I loved the way the book explored grief, longing, and how far we would go to protect those we love.
The ending was satisfying, and I had a good weep after I finished. Highly recommend.
