Hi all
Quite a specific request here: every year for World Book Day, the school where I work does a 'story through the day' where a short story is read out in five parts across each lesson. I'm looking for a good one this year and need some help!
Previous short stories that have worked well: The Landlady by Ronald Dahl; A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury; The Interlopers by Saki.
Criteria:
– short enough to read in about 50 minutes.
– suitable for ages 12-16
– features a twist ending (they seem to really like dark twists with implied horrific endings).
I'd love to know what you think might fit the bill this year, and I'm really grateful for any suggestions you can send my way. Thank you!
