Basically what the title says, I can guarantee I haven’t read any books you might recommend so please give me anything good! It doesn’t have to exactly fit the title, but I’m manly looking for things about what it means to be human from a robot’s perspective (because robots are awesome) (bonus points for trans allegories or stuff about the end of the world) Thanks in advance! 🙂

Welll, Bicentennial man (Asimov) is a must, and a classic
Kazuo Ishiguro – Klara and the Sun
Sierra Greer – Annie Bot
Ira Levin – The Stepford Wives
Martha Wells – Murderbot Diaries
I think A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers sort of fits this, though it’s a ship AI who moves into a human-like body.
It’s second in the Wayfarers series, and I do recommend all of them, but each book can be read as a standalone without missing too much.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Phillip K. Dick
Monk and Robot series. It’s just 2 books. The first is *A Psalm for the Wild Built* and the second is *A Prayer for the Crown Shy*
I suggest In The Lives of Puppetd -TJ Klune
