Hey!
I have been on a mission to read exclusively non-North American books this year. I am especially interested in reading more books by Central Asian and Eastern European authors, but seem to have some trouble finding a "good match." I was hoping someone could offer some guidance! I am a big fan of authors like Elena Ferrante, James Baldwin, Samanta Schweblin, Annie Ernaux, and Tatiana Tibuleac.
Thanks! 🙂

wait you’ve already read tatiana tibuleac and looking for more eastern european? that’s awesome, she’s criminally underrated
for central asian stuff you might dig hamid ismailov – his writing has that same psychological depth as ferrante but with this really unique uzbek perspective. also maybe check out ainur kurmanov from kazakhstan, his short stories have this haunting quality that reminds me of schweblin’s work
