Looking for a good all encompassing book about the history of human civilization up to modern times.

I know that's kind of a big ask. I thought Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything would be what I was looking for, but while the history of the universe and our planet's origin is fascinating, I was looking more for a history of human civilizations, and cultures from the stone age to modern era.
