A few months ago there was an "hmart gate" on tiktok which ignited a lot of discourse within the asian, white, and wasian communities. It bled into a lot of discussion about and from wasian creators and has led me to find in the aftermath a lot of literature, fiction especially, where a major theme is dealing with mixed race identity.
However, most of the ones I've seen recommended are mixed race that boil down to wasian identities. I'm mixed race (white & middle eastern) and I have loved reading more stories with mixed race characters, especially when it's a core theme, but many of the ones I've read are about wasian identities as well. Any recommendations for mixed race characters, storylines, themes, etc. involving non-wasian identities?

Trevor Noah’s memoir Born A Crime
The Mars books by Ben Bova feature a half Navajo / half white astronaut on a mission to Mars. His heritage is a major part of the story. They are part of Bova “Grand Tour” series but can be read on their own.
