Hi everyone!
I'm looking for books that are similar to Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski and Call Me By Your name by André Aciman. I know thev're completelv different books and take place in completely different settings, but they also share some themes that I really like and want to see in more books.
Some of the things I loved about all of them is the secret and private relationships, how the love is shaped and restricted by the outside world (social expectations, politics, career, timing, etc.), the intense emotional intimacy, the longing and yearning, masculinity being questioned and the strong character focus. I also like when a relationship stretches across time and involves both separation and reunion, plus atmosphere and emotion are really important to me. Gorgeous writing would also be appreciated!
It can be any genre. I'm excited to see what you'd recommend!
