I started recently reading a book, but I have tried many times before, now I just bought so I don't have to bring back to library, but as I read I can't really "get in" the book in all that action, the imagination is so weird, and I forget alot of things that I read even when being on same page, and I catch myself I couldn't explain myself some things about that book. It's frustrating, but maybe It's not just me and I just have to get experience in books as I never really read books in my whole life, I like the books that it can easily get into your head in a interesting way, just the reading part is sometimes boring but it's not everytime about reading, I have some free time in my work where I read. Thanks in advance

Btw im reading now ***The Nickel Boys*** by [Colson Whitehead](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colson_Whitehead) i just felt the book
I always use the 100 pages minus your age as guideline. If i cant get into the book within this pages i’ll stop reading and move on. No point wasting time. Once you get a good book and the momentum going you can revisit the previous DNF book and tried again. You just need that few books to kick start the momentum and the habits etc
