Any recs out there for a book about nature outings that turn into a rescue mission or survival? Maybe a backpacking trip gone wrong, or a mountain expedition?

I read a great article about a nonfiction search and rescue in Nee Hampshire. I tried finding other articles but nothing to that level of detail. I’ve started Into Thin Air, but the nonfiction aspect of it can get tiring.

I do want a sense of “what happens next.” Thanks!

For a fictionalized account of a real event (that is, not a lot of detail is known so the author fleshed the story out) check out *Isola*.

    5. Wild by Cheryl Strayed

Call of the Wild or “To Build a Fire” by Jack London

      Lord of the Flies

    6. 438 Days by Jonathan Franklin is really good. Follows two men who get caught in a storm on his fishing boat off the Pacific coast of Mexico. True story.

Small Game by Blair Braverman is fantastic!! Wildness survival reality show goes wrong; the camera crew never comes back and they actually have to survive in the wild and escape back to civilization.
