hey y'all! I'm currently writing a novel that is centered around the death of a very sick man and its repercussions on the life of his adult daughter and young nephew. He was like a "refuge" for both of them, offering them security and reassurance. Essentially, he was the reason why his nephew was such a happy lovely kid and why his daughter never lost her childlike wonder, as he made both of them believe in the good in the world. As he dies, their worldview is shaken.

In order to get some more inspiration, I'd love to read some other stories centered around grief and the loss of innocence that comes with it. Think about the vibes of that poem that says "childhood is the kingdom where no one ever dies" — that kind of stuff. It can even have a little supernatural element to it!
