I loved all the books by Don Winslow; in particular the 2 trilogies (Danny Ryan and The Power of the Dog). I’m looking for something thriller/crime of the same vibe. Any author/book you may suggest?
DW is one of my faves. I haven’t found anyone who writes like him as a crime writer. But I loved The Lock Artist by Steve Hamilton and think there’s an emotional parallel. In the spy genre, David McCloskey comes a bit close, I think. I haven’t read anything short of great from him.

Jordan Harper reminds me of Winslow.

If you liked Don Winslow’s crime trilogies, you might enjoy The Given Day by Dennis Lehane, The Night Gardener by George Pelecanos, The Neon Rain by James Lee Burke, The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly, and In the Woods by Tana French. They all have strong characters, crime-driven plots, and that dark, realistic vibe similar to Winslow.

George Pelecanos comes to mind.
I just finished Winslow’s latest, Final Score. It’s excellent.

Not necessarily similar but Elmore Leonard deserves a look if he’s not on your radar! A great storyteller
