I saw it at library with JG’s name on it and picked it up. I was expecting similar rhetoric and narrative to looking for Alaska and Paper Town. I was expecting the book to give some relatively nuanced characterisation.
Well it turned out to me to be totally off standard. The huge chunks of IM conversations made it hard to follow; vocabulary is very deprived comparing to other average YAs; characters are mostly stock Highschool kids with ridiculously exaggerated persona.
It’s got 3.8 somewhere on Goodreads and I don’t even believe it deserves that rating. Anyone comment on this book? And why is this so not JG style? Collab?
