I'll mark this as nsfw just in case
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for novels about women questioning their sexuality after meeting another woman and suddenly feel a spark
I'm specifically interested in the emotional aspects like real life conflicts, confusion, denial of it at first due to conservative upbringing from a different culture etc. Also I'd prefer if it had a realistic story telling if that kind of makes sense. Also I would like to see personal growth
I know this is very specific and that I'm not really good at explaining things sometimes but I hope it gets the point across
Anyway thanks in advance. Oh an btw I just put the nsfw tag just in case since it's about sexuality and all that

Mrs. Dalloway has a storyline like that, based on Virginia’s personal experience
Check Oranges are not the only fruit, The color purple, Tipping the velvet and Fried green tomatoes at the whistle stop cafe
7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo if you want something easier to read and more popular
If you’re open to a memoir, The Fixed Stars by Molly Wizenberg fits the bill.
Check out the anthology “dykes to watch out for” by Alison bechdel. Its a graphic novel of queer women throughout the 80s, very interesting portrayal of fashion, drama and relationships in that era
I think Yael van der Wouden’s The Safekeep may fit the bill. I read a number of glowing reviews of this book last year (and the novel itself is on my to read list).
The memoir Kissing Girls on Shabbat might fit the bill, but just fyi there’s also religious trauma in that memoir
The Price of Salt – Patricia Highsmith
OG 50s lesbian romance that is shockingly modern. Todd Haynes made a film adaptation in 2015 called “Carol” that was also very beautiful.
