Heavenbreaker by Sara Wolf is a great, short read if you’re into Sci-Fi or space!

I listened to all the Murderbot books in the hospital and they really got me through it. I also liked The Guncle. I reread a bunch of childhood faves like The Phantom Tollbooth, too, while I had chemo brain.

Sending good vibes for your procedure! If you want something light and actually funny to keep your mind off things, try Not Your Typical Elven Girl.
It’s a magic academy vibe but with a plus-size FMC who has absolutely zero chill and is super relatable. The banter is hilarious and it definitely avoids all those annoying perfect elf tropes. I stumbled on it on mynovel net a while back and it’s a perfect low-stakes binge for when you just want to zone out.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

For me at least, “The Happy Isles of Oceania” was one of the most relaxing, contemplative, positive books I’ve ever read. It really put me in a Zen place.

I just finished reading The Other Side of Now by Paige Harbison. Definitely not my usual fare but it was so fun and light! I loved it.
