A friend is a sociology student at uni and the knowledge she is gaining makes her feel the world is hopeless and doomed. I want to gift her a book to cheer her up, preferably something within topics within the sociology field that will give her some optimism and motivation for the future. She wants to be a librarian in the future and currently enjoying work and labour studies. She also loves fantasy books if that helps. There is no preference between non fiction or fiction, just something that is inspiring or a feel good book.
Any suggestions would be super helpful!

What You are Looking For Is in the Library, by Michiko Aoyama
Anything by Becky Chambers, but the Monk & Tea series is short and easy to get into. Braiding Sweetgrass for nonfiction. All We Can Save is a hopeful anthology about climate change.
I feel like **A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet** or **A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers** would be good picks. While these are sci-fi, they are hopeful sc-fi that imagine a bright future. Since your friend likes fantasy already, I think they could work.
