Hi, I’m trying to find a fiction book with a protagonist similar to Georgia “George” Lass from the TV show Dead Like Me, especially her early/pilot version. I’m mostly after that deadpan, apathetic inner voice… someone very introverted, stuck in a dead-end job, emotionally detached, and avoiding expectations to avoid disappointment. A character who lives mostly in their own head, where the inner monologue basically is the story. She’s intelligent but socially disconnected, with no close friends, bored, passive, and mildly cynical. I know this is very specific, but her character really stuck with me. Thanks!
