basically i want a book where the mc is not the chosen one but is either friends or in the group with the chosen one and has to deal with all the bs.
i read something similar a long time ago although i cant remember the name, that book was comedy and while its not exactly what i am looking for i am not against it.
i mainly read fantasy but its not a deal breaker if its not fantasy

Maybe The Black Company by Glen Cook
If you want a comedy, I’d recommend The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It kind of fits the bill.
