Dudes Book Club Recommendation

I’m an avid reader, lots of Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Historical stuff. I have a group of 10 guy friends with whom I’m starting a monthly book club. A couple of these guys read voraciously, though much different genres than I do. A few love books similar to me, but don’t spend much time reading these days. The rest haven’t read much of anything for enjoyment in recent years.

My goal for the group is for each person to rotate suggestions for a book so as time goes by we all get exposed to books each member is interested in. I want to expand everyones horizons, mine included.

All to say I’m going to nominate our first book, and I’m torn which way to go. Here are the books I’ve been trying to decide on one: Flowers for Algernon, The Martian, Project Hail Mary, The Ferryman, The Lathe of Heaven, Glitterati.

Ultimately I want something that highlights my tastes, is overall enjoyable, and hopefully something that’s new to everyone. That’s why I’m actually leaning toward The Lathe of Heaven, but I’d love any input from you folks, recommendations too for books off my radar.
