I'm going on holiday for 9 days and I want to read as much as possible. I have a toddler and rarely get the chance to read for long stretches, but will be room bound in the evenings so I'd like to spend them reading good books! The last ones that I read and enjoyed were Tom Lake and Pachinko. I want something really readable but well-written, nothing too depressing and nothing disturbing. I like historical fiction (Hamnet, The Mercies), family sagas, classic novels, and funny books like Cold Comfort Farm and Man at the Helm. I'd love to read 2-3 novels over my holiday if I can manage it! TIA
