Hi y’all! I posted this on another sub a while back, but I wanted more recs :]. I’d like something with a witchy vibe (or characters can be literal witches set in some sort of academic setting (like uni or a witch’s academy, but with an adult cast). Please do not recommend YA :[. I do not like or read it since I’m not the target demographic anymore. Also when I say adult I don’t mean erotica; I don’t mind some adult scenes but I don’t want romance to be the main plot.
I’d like something like Uprooted or A Discovery of Witches but… I guess in a world where a good chunk of people are witches or mages. Like it’s just another job people do.
Oh! also don’t hesitate to also recommend things that don’t tick all boxes; like if it’s still a primarily witch & adult cast but outside of an academic setting, I don’t mind that either. If there are any audiobooks/podcasts too those would be nice ¨̮ Thank u all in advance!!

Terry Pratchetts Tiffany Aching books. The target demographic is people, even if the protagonist is a child at the beginning of the series. The early books are suitable for children, without bring dumbed down, and later books are a hell of a lot darker than most of his “adult” books. Follows a young witch as she learns her craft, connects with her heritage and asks the awkward questions. More “throw the apprentce in the deep end” than academic. Very funny, thought provoking and an awesome cast of side characters.
