Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to reading and I’m looking for a book that captures a very specific atmosphere. I’m a huge fan of the Alan Wake series, so I’m searching for something dark, moody, and psychological with a 'dark grey' or foggy environment.
Since I’m a beginner, I’m looking for a real page-turner—something with a fast pace and accessible language that creates so much curiosity I’ll forget what’s going on around me. I really want a story that feels immersive and gritty.
In terms of structure, I’d prefer a book that tells a complete, satisfying story on its own without a frustrating cliffhanger, but ideally, it should be part of a series so I can continue with the characters in the next 'chapter' if I choose to. I’m looking for something with a masculine, supernatural-thriller aesthetic that’s easy to carry around and keep me hooked from start to finish. Does anyone have any recommendations that fit this dark, noir-style mystery?
