Recently, I've been seriously interested in reading about abusive relationships. Parental, familial, romantic and all the rest, but especially with mothers, girlfriends and wives being the abusive party. I love the movies "Sleeping With The Enemy" (1991) and "Run" (2020) & I found memoirs like "In the Dream House" by Carmen Maria Machado and "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy endlessly fascinating.
Specifically, I'd rather read some fictional prose or non-traditional non-fiction. I can read any article to find out facts and statistics about domestic violence, I want an interesting narrative and a plot. I'm not super affected by dark subject matter but I'd like to know beforehand if it's going to be emotional or physical abuse. TIA
