Books like American Psycho (Not in the way you think…)

Hi guys,

I love reading American Psycho. Not for the storyline or violence, but for the pretentious descriptions of beautiful clothes and beautiful people and trendy places. There is something about the anal retentitve attention to "shallow" detail in characters that feels very soothing.

I want to read similar things. I tried other Ellis novels and they didn't quite land. I recently finished Ask Not and Fairy Tale Interrupted (books about the Kennedys) and am watching Love Story. And it has reignited that itch.

Any recs?
