After months of trying to get my wife to pick up a book, I finally convinced her to read Dungeon Crawler Carl. This is probably the first series she has read since she was in school.

Now, this series is not my usual style. I’m a fantasy/romantasy gal, and my wife likes a lot of more traditionally male/masculine things. She isn’t really into my favorite books, so I don’t feel like I can suggest anything to her. She is consuming these books so fast, and I don’t want her to lose her reading momentum! What are books that have a similar vibe or books that readers of Dungeon Crawler Carl have also loved?

    1. Check out the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett (I recommend starting with Small Gods or Mort) or The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

*Dungeon Crawler Carl*, from what I understand, is more or less a standard LitRPG, so anything in that space should work. *Sword Art Online* or *Solo Leveling* (either manga/manhwa or light novel, depending on your wife’s preferences) should scratch the same itch.

i have no idea why people rave about DCC, I have just finished book 2 trying to understand. But the style is called LitRPG which I dont particularly like.

Monstrous Regiment Terry Pratchett ; Will sort out the comedy side, and if they like this there are 42 other books set in the world with the same style.

    4. If she wants to have a long series to get attached to, Dresden Files. I describe them as Horny Ron Weasley is a private detective in Chicago. I think there are like 17-18 books, so I suggest taking small breaks between to avoid burnout.

John Scalzi might be a good fit. Subject matter is different but same kind of irreverent and hard to put down writing!
