I need a book!
Requirements:
- post apocalyptic (zombies preferably)
- little to no romance (if it is then it has to be a subplot)
- POC and queer representation
- major grief (make me cry type shi)
Optional:
- Set in modern day
- if set in modern day, i'd perfer it to be set in the US
- Dark (if it is dark then ZERO romance)

How We End by LM Juniper sounds like it’s almost a good fit. Zombie apocalypse, check. Contemporary setting, check. Queer representation, check-lots. POC representation, check. Big grief, check.
Buuuut it does have a very low key slow burn romance as a sub plot (trans MMC and cis FMC). Also it’s set in London/ UK, not the USA. Lastly, the zombies themselves are quite dark/ horrific but the story is a balanced mix of the edge of your seat horror/ action and the warmer more varied human interactions between the survivors, so not sure if it’s all the way dark enough for you.
This is the first in a new ongoing series. I loved it 🙂
