So I’ve read SOIAF I loved the medieval political intrigue, because the series is in fantasy genre I asked the fantasy fans to give me recs similar to it. They were okay but to much magic fantasy ish. I much rather medieval time books with really good political intrigue as in SOIAF.

Could you guys please help me. Thanks a lot 🙂

*The Name of the Rose* by Umberto Eco

*An Instance of the Fingerpost* by Iain Pears (set in the 17th Century, but figured I’d still include — it’s excellent)

    2. Hillary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy about Henry VIII’s court. You follow his top adviser/fixer Thomas Cromwell and his maneuvering in the Tudor court.

Sharon kay penman also covers medieval intrigue in her books. I’ve read Sunne in Splendour which is about the Wars of the Roses and you follow Richard III; and a little bit of When Christ and His Saints Slept, which is about the English civil war known as the Anarchy. Her books are loooong though
