I’m looking for a book where the FMC genuinely struggles with an eating disorder, such as bulimia or anorexia. I don’t want it to be something that’s only mentioned once — it needs to be a real and significant part of the story.
I want the FMC to truly not see herself as pretty and to believe she’s ugly and unlovable. She should be deeply insecure about her appearance.
The MMC should be gentle and protective. He sees her as the most beautiful girl in the world, reassures her, and supports her through recovery. He doesn’t downplay her disorder — he understands that it’s serious and makes an effort to learn about her illness, help her, reassure her, and make her feel beautiful.
