Preferably with a strong focus on the actual hospital setting and its procedures. Sappy stories about illness and grief are not of interest. Feel free to also recommend movies and non-fiction books about the hospital environment if they are excellent. I am not interested in books for teenagers or genre fiction. Poetry also of interest. The book should preferably be somewhat new (like from the last 50 years) but I'll take any recommendation.

Isobel On The Way To The Corner Shop by Amy Witting might be up your alley. It’s mostly set in a sanatorium.
Small Rain by Garth Greenwell. Beautifully written book
I’m interested to see what books get rec’d but commenting to plug The Pitt as a legit medical drama if you aren’t already watching.
