anyone finding it difficult to find a book to start reading again?

i used to read alot back in middle to high school and recently want to get back into it but there are just soo many options out there that i cant settle in the one i want to begin with. back then a book that stood out to me was kite runner by khaled hosseini so should i start by continuing down his catalogue of books or maybe something else? i enjoy most genres but horror if that helps
