Space Sci-fi books?

I’ve mostly read medieval fantasy for most of my reading life. I do adore a good sword and magic book. However, I’ve recently been drawn to space fantasy or sci-fi.

Help me find some good space books to read. What’re your favorites and why?

For some help with suggestions catered to me, I adore all things Star Wars. Grew up on it. Never read the dune books but loved first two movies. I’ve read red rising (first three books). Planet of apes was always a favorite of mine. Interstellar. There’s more but I think you may have the style.

I’d like to avoid space horror. Horror isn’t good for me. Lol
