Hi all! I'm only recently realizing that my preferred kinds of stories are nonfiction, often adventure-y, and sometimes memoirs. Some I've loved include:

-Into Thin Air and Into the Wild (Jon Krakauer)

-The Indifferent Stars Above (Daniel James Brown)

    -Born to Run (Christopher McDougall)

    -Nowhere Near First (Cory Reese)

    -Wild (Cheryl Strayed)

I'm currently in bed and can't scope my bookshelf for others, but those are the first that come to mind.

    Hit me with your favs!

    1. Coming out the Ice might be something that you would like. It is an older book and out of print but can be found on ebay.

    2. A little different, but *The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration*, Isabel Wilkerson. It focuses on the stories of a few of the millions of African-Americans who migrated from the southern to northern and midwestern US between 1915 and 1970.

If you’re interested in running, you may like Murakami’s *What I Talk About When I Talk About Running*. A collection of memoirs about, well, running.

    3. When You Find My Body: The Disappearance of Geraldine Largay on the Appalachian Trail (D. Dauphinee)

Anything by Ty Gagne, but I think his best was “The Last Traverse: Tragedy and Resilience in the Winter Whites”

I figured if you liked Jon Krakauer you might like these as well.

Also, if you have never read anything by John McPhee, you may enjoy him. Coming Into the Country is a classic.
