Hi all, I'm looking for a book, set in modern times, that reminds you of Jane Austen's focus on social dynamics and fun characters. It doesn't necessarily need to be a retelling of a Jane Austen book, although it can be. I'm hoping for rich, delicious prose and complex dynamics between the characters. Thanks so much!

Maybe Sally Rooney’s Intermezzo? The thing I will say is that the prose style is very….matched to the characters’ emotional states? So at times it’s a little sparse and direct, but there will be moments where it comes out more and you’ll see, oh, she could do this, she’s just choosing not to.
