I am about 60% through and so bored and so not engaged. The subject matter is repetitive (for obvious reasons) but the writing is so dull too. The protagonist is the most boring person I have had the displeasure of reading about in a book. Has anyone read this ? What were your thoughts? What am I missing. I want to dnf so bad but it is a small book and I have already read 60% so I feel I should finish it

I’m in the second book and so far at least the tone doesn’t really change.
I recently finished the 3rd novel in the series, and I Love it. But no, it doesn’t get better. If you don’t enjoy this contemplative slow style, with lots of slow exploration of thoughts, this is not the book for you. If this is your style, you’ll adore the series. Tara’s passivity does get chalanged in the 3rd novel, by the way. But I don’t think you’d enjoy the journey to that point. Each volume focuses on something different, but uses the same style
Without spoiling there’s a major shift starting in the third book.
I’ve liked these books but I get why people don’t. It’s a very meditative, slow read which you don’t necessarily expect when you pick up a short book.
I wish I could help you but I decided to DNF way earlier. I can’t imagine reading seven volumes of this.
