hey all, I am a 21 y/o college student looking for some new books to read. My top 5 in no particular order are as follows: Autobiography Of Red– Anne Carson, Play It As It Lays- Joan Didion, Slaughterhouse Five– Kurt Vonnegut, Go Tell It On The Mountain– James Baldwin, and Abbey's Road/Monkeywrench Gang– Edward Abbey. I'm interested in leftist politics, queer narratives, New Narratives, poetry, anything to do with the NYC art scene of the 60s/70s, realistic fiction, essays so long as they're interesting. I recently read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke, and The Sluts. Enjoyed them all, some more than others. help! thx!

You should read Black Flamingo by Dean Atta!!! Long form queer coming of age poetry– pretty easy read
Also, hard read but Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart is fantastic
